Firefly Wedding Would Kill for Love in PV Trailer

Firefly Wedding has revealed the artist performing the opening theme song.

A new PV trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of the romance manga has previewed iri’s opening theme song “Period.” TOOBOE will perform the ending theme song “Yumegokochi.” The trailer shows Satoko and Shinpei’s fateful bloody first meeting and Satoko’s desperate proposal to Shinpei. Despite the fake engagement, the two gradually grow closer. The anime premieres on October 9.

david production will animate and produce the series with Takahiro Kamei helming the adaptation as the director. Yukiko Aikei will serve as the character designer and Yuko Kakihara will write the scripts. NOGRID will come onto the project as a composer.

Lynn will voice Satoko with Koki Uchiyama portraying Shinpei. Kent Ito will voice Kotaro Ogawa and Kenjiro Tsuda will join the cast as Mitsueda.

Written and illustrated by Oreco Tachibana, Firefly Wedding began serialization on January 1, 2023 with the main story concluding on February 2, 2026. The story will continue in seven spin-off chapters that will publish until August 3. The chapters were published in English digitally by Comikey.

The manga has three million copies in circulation as of September 2025 and was nominated for the 48th Kodansha Manga Awards and 71st Shogakukan Manga Award.

Viz’s synopsis for Firefly Wedding is as follows:

On the surface, Satoko has it all—she’s beautiful, the daughter of a nobleman, and at a prime age for marriage. Unfortunately, she is also quite ill and only has a short time left to live. Before she can secure a marriage that will redeem her worth in her family’s eyes, she finds herself the target of the mysterious assassin Shinpei, and her plans are put in jeopardy. In order to save herself, she makes a desperate proposal—of marriage! When it comes to love, however, Shinpei takes “until death do we part” seriously.

Firefly Wedding comes out on October 9 and will be streamed on Crunchyroll.
