The first teaser for the live-action adaptation of Can You Kiss Me? has dropped.
The teaser trailer for the BL drama introduces the main characters Ueno and Kanda in both their office environment and roommate situation. Their comfortable and easy rapport gets temporarily disrupted when Ueno confesses that he’s gay–but he’s not into Kanda that way, don’t worry. Jin Suzuki and Gaku Oshida will star as Ueno and Kanda, respectively. The live-action will premiere on October 19.
Yoshiki Kanemaru, Tsubasa Kizu, and Riko Kawase will star as Toma Fujisawa, Yusuke Kobayashi, and Akira Mizoguchi, respectively. Joining them are Koya Matsuda, Jun Yamasaki, Kakeru Amemiya, Sosho Tomimoto, and Aika Sonoda as Kotaro Shirai, Satoshi Kanda, akumi, Yuto Shima, and Yuika Nakagawa, respectively.
Directing the series is Meigetsu Takahashi with Emi Amamoto writing the scripts. Nobuhiro Tateno and Ami Yamashita will compose the music.
Seven Seas describes the series:
Kanda and Ueno seem like complete opposites: the charming Kanda is the superstar of the sales department, while the stern Ueno is a well-known stickler in accounting. But over time, the unlikely pair have become good friends outside of work. One day, while Kanda is crashing at Ueno’s place as he often does, Ueno confesses that he’s gay—but says Kanda isn’t his type, in case Kanda was wondering. The news makes Kanda see their closeness in a new light. Should he stop casually touching Ueno all the time? But also…why is he so bothered that Ueno isn’t into him? Maybe one of them will act on the attraction growing between them!
Can You Kiss Me First? comes out on October 19 on Fuji TV. The manga comes out on September 29.
