Solo Leveling is getting an anime film!

Shown at the Crunchyroll industry panel at Anime Expo, the streaming platform dropped the concept video as well as key viusal for the new film, titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. Described only as a direct continuation of Season 2, it’s unclear whether this will be an anime original film or if it will follow the events in the manhwa/webnovel. The concept video opens with Sung Jinwoo wondering what he might be losing in exchange for unlimited power. He wonders if he had just been ignoring the repercussions of being a player in the system. The pain of losing his companions in Season 2 spur him on to continue leveling up in order to protect his remaining loved ones.

At the end of the concept video, it does call the movie Solo Leveling Season 3: The Movie, so it’s likely that Season 3 will not be a season but this movie.

Crunchyroll will co-produce the film, along with Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media, and Kakao Piccoma. A-1 Pictures will animate the film. Information about the synopsis and staff have not yet been revealed as of this article’s writing.
