Fans will soon be able to get their hands on this gorgeous pop-up artbook.
Aloha Comics announced that they are the official US distributor of the Heaven Official’s Blessing pop-up artbook that is based on STARember’s manhua adaptation of the hit danmei series. The pop-up artbook contains 14 pages with various interaction points and will be hardcover. It will also include a number of bonuses.
The pop-up artbook will have:
- Interactive 3D locations and scenes
- Over 30 3D dioramas
- Over 1,000 manual assembly steps
- A frosted PVC slipcase with transparent UV printing featuring Hua Cheng’s silhouette
- A hardcover with an embossed hot-stamped silhouette of Xie Lian
The official bonuses will include:
- Two shikishi boards
- One lenticular card
- One sticker pack
- Three postcards
- One PVC ticket folder
- Two flower-shaped bookmarks
- Two character bookmarks
- One branded envelope
Based on Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s popular danmei series, Heaven Official’s Blessing follows an unlucky god named Xie Lian who was once a beloved prince among the mortals and god among the heavens. After being banished twice, Xie Lian has become the laughingstock of all three realms. When he ascends for an unprecedented third time, it turns the heavens upside down. With multiple palaces destroyed, Xie Lian now has to find some way to pay the damages but with no followers and therefore no power, he can’t do much except descend to the mortal realm to hunt down ghosts. There, he meets a mysterious red-robed young man who seems to know a lot about Xie Lian.
The series was adapted into a manhua with STARember handling the artwork and adaptation for one season before it went on indefinite hiatus with the artist pulling out and focusing on their personal projects. A replacement artist was not announced and it is unclear if the manhua will ever continue.
Heaven Official’s Blessing was also adapted into a two-season donghua along with four short films. The latest film was announced to air at Bilibili’s panel during Anime NYC this year.
The pop-up artbook is set to release in October this year and preorders are now open.
