Wattpad stories are coming to the small screen—very small, very vertical, and very addictive.
Wattpad has partnered with ReelShort, the leading global vertical streaming platform, to adapt three fan-favorite stories into live-action vertical drama series. The collaboration connects Wattpad’s storytelling community with ReelShort’s global user base of over 75 million monthly active users.
The partnership kicked off with Emily Jean’s Wattpad hit, Just One Kiss, which premiered on ReelShort on September 27. It’s already a top-performing title with over 30 million views.
Next up is Worth the Chase by FLEURNJARDIN, launching October 27, followed by Annica Dahl’s Taming The Playboy Boss in early 2027.
Wattpad stories are written chapter by chapter, naturally serialized and packed with high-stakes drama and cliffhangers—making them a perfect fit for ReelShort’s episodic format. The partnership gives Wattpad authors a new avenue to build their fandoms and reach audiences beyond the page.
“Wattpad’s community has always thrived on storytelling that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from chapter to chapter,” said David J. Lee, President of Wattpad. “Partnering with ReelShort allows us to bring the stories our community loves to life in a dynamic, mobile-first visual format.”
Joey Jia, CEO of ReelShort, added: “Wattpad has built an incredible community of writers and readers and has a strong track record of discovering stories that audiences connect with. Working together gives us the opportunity to bring those stories to life in a new format.”
For fans of Wattpad’s most binge-worthy stories, this partnership means seeing them come to life in a new way—and for the authors, it’s a chance to reach millions of new readers and viewers. Read Just One Kiss on Wattpad, then stream the adaptation on ReelShort. Happy binging.
