SEVENTEEN’s DINO Debuts as Alter Ego Picheolin with August Mini Album

He’s been a beloved fan favorite for years. Now, Picheolin is finally getting his own album.

SEVENTEEN’s DINO is set to make his official debut as his charismatic alter ego with the release of his first mini album 吉BOARD (Gilboard) on August 3.

The album title is a creative twist on 1990s Korean street music culture known as “Gilboard”—a witty take on Billboard that referred to unofficial street music charts and cassette compilations at the time. By combining the homophone “吉” (Gil), meaning “good fortune,” with “BOARD,” the album captures Picheolin’s ambition to turn the streets into his stage, spreading joy and prosperity through music.

For the uninitiated: Picheolin is the charismatic CEO and joyful producer of fictional agency BOMG, a character defined by warmth and an unmatched passion for “Heung” (the Korean term for hype). Originally introduced during SEVENTEEN’s 2021 fan meeting, he now steps into the spotlight as a “Producer on the Streets,” transforming everyday stories into vibrant tracks rooted in community and celebration.

The recently dropped trailer features Picheolin across different eras—from a prehistoric figure who discovered rhythm before language to a futuristic hero in 2126 who brings planetary peace through new beats. The narrative culminates with present-day “2026 Picheolin” locking eyes with the camera in his trademark sweet gaze.

Sonically, the trailer blends heavy beats with sophisticated saxophone sounds. Picheolin’s ringtone also offers a preview: “I’m crazy, crazy. I must be crazy. I must be crazy for you.”

While DINO embarks on this new solo trail as Picheolin, SEVENTEEN will reunite with fans at their 2026 SVT 10TH FAN MEETING on June 20 and 21 in Incheon, Korea.Siy

DINO has always been one of SEVENTEEN’s most versatile performers—main dancer, rapper, and all-around scene-stealer. Giving him the chance to fully embody Picheolin across a full mini album feels less like a side project and more like a long-awaited gift to fans who’ve loved the character since day one.

Gilboard drops August 3. Start practicing your “Heung” now.
