Seven Seas had only two print license announcements this week, with one already melting the cold away.
For this week’s Wonderful Wednesday announcements, Seven Seas announced a total of five licenses, three being audiobook adaptations, one manga, and one manhwa. The publisher’s last announcement of the day was Melting Point, PIBI’s (Unintentional Love Story) latest BL about a talented hockey player chasing after his sunbae who quit playing 12 years ago.
Melting Point, in particular, was a surprise to many and had mixed reactions. While fans were happy to get the hockey BL manhwa in print and fairly quickly, many were also confused why Seven Seas decided to license this particular work. Melting Point is still ongoing and is only on its second season as of this article’s writing and this will mark the first time Seven Seas has decided to publish a full season of a manhwa as an omnibus rather than single volumes. The publisher also rarely announces a license with a release date so far out in the future.
