Yes, there’s a Toad option.

It’s-a-me…in a casket, a Super Mario themed one. And yes, if I am buried in one of these, feel free to make all of the bad Mario-themed death jokes that you desire. Actually, it’s my funeral and I get to set the terms, so I am making bad Super Mario-themed jokes more than just permissible, they would be required. So please, begin any and all of your eulogy and in-memoriam speeches with, “Game over” or “Ollie has finally run out of 1-ups,” because I will be listening from the other side.

Bignotto, a Brazilian urn and coffin manufacturer, went viral last week after it unveiled its line of unofficial Super Mario Galaxy Movie-themed coffins, and they’re exactly as wonderfully unhinged as they sound. The themed coffins come in red, green, or pink, with an interchangeable wooden plaque on the front representing characters including Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, and Toad. The company has been promoting them across Instagram, including a video set to the iconic World 1-2 underground theme with “GAME OVER” displayed on screen. Duh-duh, duh-duh, duh-duh. Duh-duh, duh-duh, duh-duh. (All played on an organ for dramatic effect as the coffin is slowly lowered underground.)

The Super Mario-themed coffins are just the latest in Bignotto’s ongoing run of pop culture caskets. That same pink model has previously done duty as a Barbie coffin and a Hello Kitty coffin, while the pink and green together appeared as a Fairly OddParents set.

It’s morbid, sure. But there’s a long, surprisingly wholesome tradition of themed final send-offs. Anyone who’s had to handle funeral arrangements knows the wide array of themed options out there, from urns dedicated to specific sports teams to to torpedo shaped coffins for Star Trek fans. Bignotto is just leaning into it harder than most, with a social media energy that feels genuinely optimistic about the whole dying thing—and I’m all for it.
