The second volume of Hidden Love takes the couple onto the next phase of life: adulthood.
Seven Seas Entertainment revealed the cover for Vol. 2 of Hidden Love which showcases Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu as adults, showing a natural progression of their relationship as they get older. The two are on the cover with Duan Jiaxu teasingly pulling Sang Zhi’s mask as they stand beside a car after a night drive. MORNCOLOUR illustrated both the cover and interior artwork. W. Tay translates the series.

Written by Zhu Yi, Hidden Love is a coming-of-age romance that begins in high school with Sang Zhi harboring a crush on her brother’s best friend, Duan Jiaxu. Although she tries to bridge the gap between them, Duan Jiaxu has always treated her as a little sister. Years pass and when the two see each other again, Sang Zhi is in college and trying hard to forget about her crush. But Duan Jiaxu has never forgotten about her.
Hidden Love had previously inspired a Chinese live-action television series that aired in 2023 for 25 episodes. Zhao Lusi starred as Sang Zhi and Chen Zheyuan portrayed Duan Jiaxu. Victor Ma played Sang Zhi’s older brother Sang Yan. Directed by Lee Ching Jung with Shen Fei Xian writing the screenplay, the drama garnered praise for the chemistry between the two leads and can be viewed on Youku or Netflix.
Even though they’ve reconnected as adults, Sang Zhi is determined to act normal around her longtime crush, Duan Jiaxu. When he suddenly begins to chase her, she can hardly believe it—and she keeps her distance, convinced it’s too good to be true.
Meanwhile, a shadow from Duan Jiaxu’s past starts interfering in his life again. The trouble reaches Sang Zhi as well, forcing her to confront the parts of his world he’s always tried to shield her from. But as she learns more about his family and the insecurities he hides behind his easy smile, her feelings only grow stronger.
When an upsetting encounter pushes them closer, they seem ready to close the gap. But are they truly prepared for what comes next?
The second volume comes out on December 8.
