Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu’s relationship will no longer be a secret in the third volume.
Seven Seas Entertainment unveiled the cover for the third and final volume of Hidden Love. Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu are front and center with the former cuddling with her boyfriend as the two wait at the airport. The final volume will also feature extras that “offer a warm peek at what awaits [the couple] in the future.” W. Tay translated the series and MORNCOLOUR illustrated both the cover and interior artwork.
Written by Zhu Yi, Hidden Love is a coming-of-age romance that begins in high school with Sang Zhi harboring a crush on her brother’s best friend, Duan Jiaxu. Although she tries to bridge the gap between them, Duan Jiaxu has always treated her as a little sister. Years pass and when the two see each other again, Sang Zhi is in college and trying hard to forget about her crush. But Duan Jiaxu has never forgotten about her.
Hidden Love had previously inspired a Chinese live-action television series that aired in 2023 for 25 episodes. Zhao Lusi starred as Sang Zhi and Chen Zheyuan portrayed Duan Jiaxu. Victor Ma played Sang Zhi’s older brother Sang Yan. Directed by Lee Ching Jung with Shen Fei Xian writing the screenplay, the drama garnered praise for the chemistry between the two leads and can be viewed on Youku or Netflix.
Seven Seas has the following as the synopsis for the third and final volume:
Sang Zhi is on top of the world—enjoying college life, finally dating Duan Jiaxu, even moving in with him for the summer while she interns. Being with her longtime crush feels easy, almost natural…until a visit home ends with her parents finding out and their sudden disapproval. As the golden child, she’s rarely been on this side of a lecture; now she has to find a way to change their minds!
At the same time, Sang Zhi works to coax Duan Jiaxu into sharing the hurt he keeps hidden: the crime that shattered his family, the loss he still carries, and the judgment that shadows him in the form of his erratic stalker. Through it all, a small part of her wonders if their lopsided love can last. He’s always been her dream—could she really be his?
Vol. 3 of Hidden Love comes out on April 13, 2027.
