Hai Tang Books has added another modern day danmei to its library.
The small publisher announced that it has licensed Old Wounds New Growth, a modern day danmei about second chances. An illustration by @/JulianLynnnn accompanied the announcement although it’s unclear if they will be the cover artist for the series. Heather Wang will translate with Sunino editing. A release window has not yet been revealed.
Written by Shi Wu Cha, Old Wounds New Growth follows Shen Baoshan who watches his lover, Li Chishu, battle depression before ultimately committing suicide. Shen Baoshan gets a second chance when he wakes up ten years in the past and meets Li Chishu in high school once more. With Li Chishu’s death haunting him from his past life, Shen Baoshan is determined to make sure there’s a happier ending this time. The danmei consists of 28 chapters and three extras for a total of 31 chapters although it is unclear if Hai Tang Books will follow the same format.
Hai Tang’s tagline reads:
After my boyfriend’s funeral, I woke up in the past, back when he was secretly in love with me, and I didn’t even know he existed…
The danmei will be a single-volume release.
