The worlds of K-Pop and animated cinema are colliding in a delightful way. JISOO, beloved member of the global sensation BLACKPINK, has lent her talents to the upcoming The Angry Birds Movie 3, contributing an original track titled “Sun Showers.”
According to exclusive reports, the K-Pop star didn’t just perform the song—she co-wrote it specifically for the film. “Sun Showers” is expected to feature prominently in the movie itself and will also be showcased in the upcoming trailer, giving fans an early taste of the upbeat energy she’s bringing to the project.
In a heartwarming twist, the single’s artwork features a character named “Shumon,” a charming little dustball creature. This isn’t just any character design—it’s a creation Jisoo originally drew back in middle school, long before her debut as a K-Pop idol. Seeing her childhood imagination come to life on a global stage is, in her own words, “deeply meaningful.”
In an exclusive statement, JISOO expressed her enthusiasm for joining the franchise: “I’m so happy to be part of The Angry Birds Movie 3. I’ve always loved how the films bring together such colorful characters, humor and heart. With ‘Sun Showers,’ I wanted to capture the movie’s playful and bright energy through a fun, feel-good song that makes people want to smile and dance along.”
She added, “I really hope everyone will enjoy hearing it when they see the film over the holidays.”
Set for release on December 23 from Paramount Pictures, The Angry Birds Movie 3 promises to be a festive treat for the whole family. The official synopsis teases the stakes: “This holiday season, one angry bird will face his greatest challenge yet, surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!”
The film boasts an impressive voice cast, including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Rachel Bloom, Walker Scobell, Danny McBride, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter, Psalm West, Sam Richardson, and James Austin Johnson. Lily James and Keke Palmer also join the ensemble.
Directed by John Rice with a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman, the film is produced by John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor, and Namit Malhotra. Executive producers include Louis Koo, Toru Nakahara, Ben Mattes, Hanna Valkeapää-Nokkala, Crosby Clyse, Chris Pflug, Simon Hedges, Christopher Milburn, Jamey Heath, Paul Kang, Geneva Wasserman, and Cathy Boxall.
With JISOO’s creative stamp on the soundtrack and a nostalgic character design making its debut, The Angry Birds Movie 3 is shaping up to be more than just another animated sequel—it’s a project with genuine heart.
