After announcing that a second season of the hit anime Black Clover was coming in 2025, fans will finally get to see it in October.
Black Clover is officially returning with Season 2 in October and revealed a new key visual with the announcement. But fans have a chance to see it earlier and on a much bigger screen because Crunchyroll will be premiering a sneak peek on September 21 in theaters in the US and Canada. Black Clover as well as The Vermilion Mask, Overgeared, Firefly Wedding, and PSYREN will all get special screenings on one day only in Japanese with English subtitles.

Yuki Tabata wrote Black Clover after his one-shot Hungry Joker was canceled after 24 episodes where he based his protagonist on his own personality. The manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump on February 16, 2015 and concluded on May 1, 2026 in Jump Giga. The series has a total of 38 tankobon volumes.
Black Clover inspired an anime adaptation with Studio Pierrot helming the production. The anime aired from October 2017 to March 2021 for a whopping 170 episodes. Two years later, an anime film called Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King premiered on June 16, 2023 and takes place between the “Elf Reincarnation Arc” and the “Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc.” The film premiered on Netflix and garnered 6.4 million views in its first week and earned “Best Film” at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Pierrot will return to animate and produce the second season.
The story follows Asta, a young orphan who possesses no mana and must instead rely on his physical strength, and his friend Yuno who possesses a wealth of mana and has the ability to control wind magic. One day, Asta acquires a grimoire which gives him anti-magic abilities. The two’s journeys diverge when they join different squads but they both still have the same goal in mind: to become the next Wizard King.
Black Clover Season 2 will air on Crunchyroll in October.
