Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi Manhua Announces Release Date
The highly-anticipated manhua adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi, or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, will debut in March.
The official English translation of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, or Mo Dao Zu Shi in Chinese, manhua will come out this month.
Seven Seas Entertainment, the publisher of the English translation of the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation novels, have licensed the manhua. The first volume of the full-colour adaptation will come out on March 7, 2023. Luo Di Cheng Liu provides the illustrations.
Originally a web novel written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Mo Dao Zu Shi follows Wei Wuxian, once feared by the cultivation world for his demonic cultivation, who comes back to life thirteen years after his death. Now in the body of Mo Xuanyu, a “cut sleeve” who is despised by his clan and family, Wei Wuxian is looking forward to roaming the world freely. Before he can do so, he must first fulfill Mo Xuanyu’s revenge. However, the case is much more complicated than he anticipated — things made more entangled when he comes face to face with Lan Wangji, a cultivator whom he once viciously butted heads with when he was younger. Thirteen years ago, it didn’t seem like the two would ever become friends, but will things be different this time around?
Along with Mo Dao Zu Shi, Seven Seas has also licensed Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s other web novels such as Tian Guan Ci Fu, or Heaven Official’s Blessing, and Ren Zha Fanpai Zijiu Xitong, or The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System. Both the latter series have manhua adaptations but does not currently have an official English translation. Seven Seas also recently announced the licensing of other danmei novels such as The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, fondly nicknamed as 2ha by the fans, and Qian Qiu or Thousand Autumns in English.
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi manhua launches on March 7.
