Spy x Family’s Anya Plays a Cheeky April Fools’ Joke on Damian

Dugar (@/ducartoon) created an adorable Spy x Family that will make fans laugh/cry.

The four-panel comic begins with a teenaged Anya appearing to confess her feelings to Damian in earnest, saying, “I like you.” The second panel features a sweetly dumbstruck Damian, who seems unable to believe what he’s hearing. Moving on to the third panel, fans of the pink-haired telepath see flowers floating around her as she affirms, “Actually, I like you sooooo much.” Meanwhile, an overwhelmed Damian appears to vibrate as his brain attempts to process Anya’s confession. The sweet and wholesome illustrations take a turn when readers arrive at the fourth panel and Becky delivers devastating news in just nine words: “He doesn’t know today is April Fool’s Day, right?” Oof.

Although the comic features an April Fools’ Day twist, fans of the anime absolutely love it. At the time of writing, the original tweet from @/ducatoon has 635 retweets, 20 quote tweets, 2,975 likes and 153 bookmarks. In addition, fans took the time to reply, with Jake Long (@/longk375) saying, “Classic Rom-com scenario. I bet the anime title of this would be: ‘I confessed to my crush on April fool’s as a joke, but now we’re actually dating!?'” Kpleaseleavemebe replied saying that “Anya actually forgot it was April fools,” which is on-brand for the Forger family’s daughter.
