Noragami Manga to Conclude at End of Year
The Noragami manga will end sometime at the end of this year.
According to Manga Mogura RE’s Tweet, Adachitoka’s manga series Noragami will release its final volume, Volume 27, in Japan at the closing of 2023. The series currently has 25 tankōbon volumes as of June 2022.
Adachitoka, the collective pen name for Adachi and Tokashiki, started writing Noragami (literally “stray god”) in 2010 where it began serialization in Monthly Shōnen Magazine in December of that same year. The series follows Hiyori Iki, a middle school girl, whose soul constantly slips out of her body following a bus accident. She discovers there are two parallel worlds, one where humans occupy and another where phantoms and human souls roam. Yato, a nameless god determined to make a name for himself and have his own shrine, offers to help Hiyori with solving her soul-escaping problem. He and Hiyori are later joined by Yukine, the soul of a young deceased boy, who becomes Yato’s Regalia. The trio go on a number of adventures and Yato’s past slowly gets unravelled.
An anime adaptation of Noragami, produced by Bones with Kotaro Tamura as director, aired in January 2014 with 12 episodes and two OVAs. A second season, titled Noragami Aragoto, aired in October 2015 and concluded in December.
The first two seasons of Noragami are available on Crunchyroll.
