Mo Dao Zu Shi Warms the End of 2023 With Cozy Illustration

Mo Dao Zu Shi’s Wangxian is making sure to stay warm as they prepare for 2024.

Mo Dao Zu Shi‘s Wangxian is reminding fans to keep warm as 2023 comes to a close.

The beloved couple from Mo Dao Zu Shi is featured in a new illustration. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji walk side by side with the latter holding his husband’s cloak, in his customary red and black colours. Rabbits bound around in the background, playing with each other in the snow. Tucked in a corner are snowmen built in the likeness of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, a red scarf tied around the two with a red umbrella protecting the snowmen from the snow. The Japanese audio drama has also released a New Year’s video along with an equally adorable illustration.

Based on the New York Times-best selling novel series by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Mo Dao Zu Shi follows the brilliant, but unconventional, cultivator Wei Wuxian who becomes the most detested and feared cultivator after choosing the path of demonic cultivation. 13 years after his death, it seemed like the world had gone into a period of peace until he returns to the world of the living via summoning. Although Wei Wuxian had every intention to live peacefully without drawing attention to himself, a case about a ghost arm pulls him back into events from 13 years ago…and the man whom he once thought was his enemy.

Mo Dao Zu Shi has inspired several adaptations, including a manhua, a donghua which spanned three seasons, a monochrome manga, an audio drama, and a live-action adaptation called The Untamed. The Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua is available to watch on Viki and YouTube while the audio drama is accessible through MissEvan for those who want to listen to the Chinese version and MiMi for those who wish to listen to the Japanese version. Seven Seas holds the official English license for the novel series and manhua adaptation.
