Fushigi Yuugi Byakko Senki Manga Set for 2024 Return
After being pushed back from a fall 2023 return, Fushigi Yuugi Byakko Senki will resume publication in 2024.
Fushigi Yuugi‘s prequel manga series Byakko Senki by Watase Yuu will return in May 2024.
Initially planned for a fall 2023 return after a 5-year hiatus, the prequel will resume in Monthly Flowers issue 7/2024, as per Manga Mogura RE. No reason was given for the delay in return to publication after the initial announcement. However, it’s widely known that the series’ creator has struggled with health issues over the years.
Byakko Senki follows the priestess of Byakko, Suzuno Ohsugi after she transmigrates into The Universe of the Four Gods. It takes place almost immediately after Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, in which scholar Takao Ohsugi brings home The Universe of the Four Gods, hoping to find a way to seal or destroy it after his predecessor’s daughter, Takiko Okuda, entered the book and became the Priestess of Genbu.
