Whisper Me a Love Song Anime Delayed to April 2024
Whisper Me a Love Song will be delayed to April 2024. The upcoming yuri anime will also have a new director.
Fans will have to wait a few more months to hear the love song between Whisper Me a Love Song‘s Himari and Yori.
A new PV for the upcoming girls’ love anime Whisper Me a Love Song has revealed a number of details around the premiere date, director, studio, and staff. Initially announced for a January 2024 premiere, Whisper Me a Love Song has now been pushed to April 2024 due to “various circumstances.” The original director, Xin Ya Cai (assistant director to The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt), left the project due to “health reasons” and has been replaced with Akira Mano (Rent-A-Girlfriend).
Among the other changes is the revision that Yokohama Animation Lab is producing the animation in collaboration with Cloud Hearts where earlier, Yokohama Animation Lab was only credited as animation production supervision. The PV also introduces the theme song “Humming Love,” performed by SSGIRLS band. Hana Shimano and Asahi Seto voice Hiimari Kino and Yori Asanagi, respectively.
Written and illustrated by Eku Takeshima, Whisper Me a Love Song follows an energetic first-year high schooler named Himari Kino who, upon seeing a senior named Yori Asanagi perform in her band, confesses her admiration for her. However, Yori interprets her confession to be one of the romantic nature. Although the two resolve their misunderstanding, Yori is determined to make Himari fall in love with her for real.
Whisper Me a Love Song has been licensed in English by Kodansha Comics. The anime premieres in April 2024.
