Weak Hero Class 1 Unveils Season 2 Main Cast

Park Jihoon has confirmed his return as Yeon Si-eun for Season 2 of Weak Hero Class 1.

Netflix Korea has dropped a few behind-the-scene pictures of the cast of Weak Hero Class 1 Season 2. There, fans will see Park Jihoon, who starred as Yeon Si-eun in Season 1 of the drama, surrounded by a new cast of characters. The pictures exude a friendly camaraderie between the actors, although it remains to be seen whether it will be the same atmosphere in the second season.

Alongside Park, Season 2 of Weak Hero Class 1 has also welcomed back Yoo Subin as Choi Hyo Man. Ryeoun was previously announced to play Park Hoo Min. Choi Minyeong will portray Yeo Joon Tae while Lee Minjae plays Go Hyun Tak. Bae Nara will portray Na Baek Jin and Lee Junyoung as Geum Sung Jae.

Based on Seopass and Razen’s popular webcomic Weak Hero, Weak Hero Class 1 follows Yeon Si-eun, a highly intelligent and quiet high schooler who spends most of his time studying for exams and keeping away from the rest of his class. One day, he accidentally incurs the wrath of Jeon Yeong-bin. Although not physically strong, Si-eun is able to use his quick wits to outsmart Yeong-bin. However, Yeong-bin refuses to leave him alone and when Si-eun finds himself cornered, two other classmates Ahn Suho, the strongest in the class, and Oh Beom-seok, the timid and tormented son of an assembly man, save him. From there, the three of them grow closer, but their friendship doesn’t last long before they find themselves in danger once again.

Season 2 will follow directly after the events of Season 1 will Si-eun transferring to a new school, Eunjang High School. Although he’s far away from his old school, the traumatic memories from being powerless to save his friends still follow him, thus further fuelling his desire to protect his friends at Eunjang.

Park Jihoon places Yeon Si-eun with Choi Hyunwook as Ahn Suho. Hong Kyung plays Oh Beom-seok. The drama received high praise with critics praising the actors. Hong Kyung received a nomination for Best New Actor — Television at the Bakesang Arts Awards. Choi and Park both received awards at the Blue Dragon Series Awards with Park sealing the deal with Best New Actor. Park also won Best New Actor at the Korea Drama Awards.

Weak Hero is available to read in English on WEBTOON. Wavve streamed the first season with Netflix streaming the second. No premiere date has been announced yet for the second season.
