Viral Hit Announces Anime Adaptation and April 2024 Premiere
The anime adaptation of Viral Hit will premiere in April 2024.
Viral Hit is heading for the television screens this April.
The webtoon series Viral Hit has announced it will receive an anime adaptation scheduled for April. When it broadcasts in Japan, it will do so under the title Kenka Dokugaku. Okuruto Noboru will be the studio responsible for animating and producing the series with Masakazu Hishida directing. Hishida had previously directed Ensemble Stars! and Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon – The Second Act. Slow Curve will produce the series.
Toshiya Ono will write the series script with Satomi Miyazaki designing the characters. Ono previously wrote the script for The Promised Neverland and 86-Eighty-Six. Miyazaki previously worked on the character designs for Tomodachi Game and animated for Black Butler: Book of Circus. Yutaka Yamada, notably the composer for Tokyo Ghoul, will compose.
Written by Taejun Park (the writer behind Lookism) and illustrated by Kim Junhyun, Viral Hit follows Hobin Yu, a high schooler with a slight build who suddenly gains the ability to fight people stronger than him after following some advice from a mysterious NewTube channel that focuses on fighting. Viral Hit launched originally in Korean in November 2019 with the English translation in October 2020.
