D&C WEBTOON has announced that the hit fantasy-romance manhwa will resume updates on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 22:00 KST. The update came via X (formerly Twitter), where the publisher also teased what’s next for readers: Penelope will confront Yvonne head-on as the story pushes into one of its most anticipated arcs.
The reveal included brand-new cover art featuring Callisto standing protectively behind Penelope, sword raised in a defensive stance. The striking visual has already stirred excitement among fans who have waited eagerly for this continuation.
Villains Are Destined to Die is adapted from the popular Korean novel series and centers on a college student who wakes up inside the body of Penelope Eckhart—the villainess of the otome game she had been playing before her death. Trapped in Hard Mode, where the affection of each love interest must be carefully managed to avoid instant death, Penelope uses her game knowledge to outmaneuver deadly flags, survive long enough to reach an ending, and perhaps find a way back to her original world.
