If your isekai romance radar has been pinging lately, there’s a reason. MANGA MIRAI just dropped a batch of exclusive Futabasha titles, headlined by the English debut of There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her—and yes, the title is exactly as charming as it sounds.
Originally a light novel series by Suisei with a manga adaptation by Kairi, the series follows Youki, a guy who dies in a traffic accident and reincarnates in a fantasy world as… a demon. Not the Demon Lord—just a low-rank guardian sitting around in the castle with zero ambition to conquer anything. When the Hero’s party shows up, he accidentally wipes them out, heals them up, and promptly falls head-over-heels for the party’s gentle cleric, Cecilia.
It’s a playful twist on the usual power fantasy formula: instead of building a harem or claiming a throne, our guy just wants to shoot his shot.
MANGA MIRAI is releasing the first four volumes of the 13-volume series in English, giving fans a chance to catch up alongside the recently premiered anime adaptation. The anime stars Kōhei Amasaki (Re:Zero, My Hero Academia, Wistoria) as Youki and Kana Hanazawa (Angel Beats!, Steins;Gate, Demon Slayer) as Cecilia, with opening theme “Lavish!!” by Yoshino and ending “Kimi Kōryaku Game” by Hiyori Ōmiya.
The announcement isn’t a one-title show. Three additional Futabasha manga are now available exclusively on MANGA MIRAI:
- The Supposedly Useless Potion Turned Out to Be Soy Sauce, So I Started Cooking With It – A 30-year-old housewife gets isekai’d, discovers her “useless” potions are actually soy sauce, and starts revolutionizing another world through cooking. Food fantasy meets second chances.
- Cheat Magician Life That Started From Being Judged Useless – A whole class gets isekai’d, but Kento gets labeled useless and abandoned in a monster forest. Plot twist: he’s actually stacked with cheat-tier magic and a skeleton squad. Revenge arc incoming.
- The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, Is, In Fact, the Strongest – A healer gets kicked out for not pulling his weight. Turns out he’s secretly a close-combat monster who just never told anyone. The martial artist he teams up with next is about to find out.
All four titles are live now on MANGA MIRAI. Whether you’re here for demon rom-coms, soy sauce isekai, or healers with hidden DPS stats, there’s something fresh to dig into.
