After a nine-month break, The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low is finally coming back.
Announced on Polar Fox Comic’s X, formerly known as Twitter account, the popular BL webcomic The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low will launch Season 2 on Ridibooks on January 13 at 12:22 PM KST. The series initially launched on the platform on September 16, 2024 and wrapped up on April 21, 2025. Fans have expressed their excitement about finally seeing J and Sayoung return. A teaser image for the second season was dropped with the two looking quite dashing.

Based on the original story by 103, former S-rank Hunter Uijae was tasked to seal a rift but found himself in a garbage dump after doing so. Starving, he enters a hangover soup restaurant only to discover that he’s going eight years into the future where not only has Korea entered a period of peace… but Uijae, aka J, is presumed dead. Well, that works fine for him. He’d rather work at this restaurant than go back to the Hunter life. Unfortunately for him, he can’t quite escape his past when the country’s top Hunter Sayoung finds him and refuses to leave him alone.
The webnovel was first serialized on February 22, 2023 with 144 chapters for part 1. The second part is currently ongoing. The novel was adapted into a manhwa with MAGMA as the writer and Iigong and Aurora STUDIO illustrating and has seen considerable success.
Season 1 of The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low premiered on March 3, 2025 on the manhwa and webnovel platform Manta and concluded on June 23 with 35 episodes. A date for the English translation of Season 2 has not yet been announced but it’ll likely release sometime this year.
Fans can read Season 1 in English on Manta.
