The Devil Is a Part-Timer Gets Homaged by McDonald’s ‘As Featured In’ Meal
Sadao Maou from the hit anime The Devil Is a Part-Timer makes a surprise appearance at McDonald’s, thanks to the company’s ‘As Featured In’ meal.
Earlier this month, McDonald’s announced its ‘As Featured In’ meal, which would give a nod to media that previously featured the iconic fast food giant. Examples listed in their official tweet/post to Twitter/X included The Fifth Element, Friends and Clueless.
What most excited anime fans was the inclusion of The Devil Is a Part-Timer, a 2013 anime about the Demon Lord Satan who finds himself lost in modern-day Tokyo, Japan. In order to survive, he takes on the identity of Sadao Maou and begins working as a part-timer at MgRonald’s.
The Devil Is a Part-Timer fans, including @/HuinGuillaume took to Twitter/X to share a picture of the demonic part-timer ready to take customers’ orders at a self-serve kiosk at McDonald’s. Guillaume’s picture was accompanied by a message: “Seeing Sadao Maou from The Devil is a Part-Timer in a McDonald’s store for the As Featured In campaign makes the little kid in me that grew up with manga and anime so happy and proud.”
The collaboration began on Aug. 14. The ‘As Featured In‘ meal includes the brand’s iconic bag, cup and fries. Customers can choose between a Big Mac, 10-piece chicken nuggets or a Quarter Pounder with Cheese as their entrée.
