The Boxer Webtoon Swings Into Animated Adaptation
The Boxer, a popular webtoon featuring two aspiring boxers, will receive an animated adaptation.
Popular WEBTOON series The Boxer has confirmed it will receive an animated adaptation.
As revealed on animation studio XTORM‘s site, The Boxer will join Seasons of Blossom in its upcoming line-up of aeni adaptations. CBR previously reported an animated adaptation of the slice-of-life romance webtoon Seasons of Blossom would arrive sometime in 2024. According to the website, The Boxer will have 12 episodes at 24 minutes each.
Created by Jeong Ji-Hun, who writes under the pen name J.H. and previously wrote The Horizon and Mosquito Wars, The Boxer follows two up-and-coming boxers who have two completely different approaches to boxing. Considered a genius, Ryu Baeksan is able to overwhelm his opponents larger than him with ease, consequently fuelling his arrogance. That all comes crashing down when he suffers his first defeat at the hands of Yu, a seemingly emotionless teen who has the ability to sense attacks coming and evade them within seconds. The Boxer completed with 123 episodes on June 22, 2022 after launching its first episode on May 27, 2020. It has over 166 million views.
