Season 2 of The Beginning After the End won’t be coming out until months later but fans can be satiated for now with a teaser trailer.
Crunchyroll released a trailer for Season 2, revealing new allies and friends for Arthur. Although Season 1 was originally supposed to be 24 episodes, the anime has been split into two seasons with the first containing 12 episodes. The second season will still be animated by Studio A-Cat and launches in April 2026, approximately a year after the first season. Slow Curve oversees the production.

Keitaro Motonaga will return as the director for the second season with Takamitsu Kono writing the series scripts. Keiji Inai will compose the music. TurtleMe, the creator behind The Beginning After the End, is the story supervisor and executive producer with Tapas Entertainment’s Mike Zhu, Kevin Nicklaus, and TurtleMe LLC’s Gabrielle Lu executive producing.
As hyped as the anime adaptation was, the first season was rife with criticisms for the less-than-stellar animation quality where it appears as though stills have been stitched together. TurtleMe himself addressed the criticisms in a Reddit post, explaining that he didn’t have much say in the animation process. “At the end of the day, there will always be creative differences [with Tapas, Studio A-Cat, and Crunchyroll] in the room,” he wrote, “but I really do believe that everyone is coming at it with their best effort and intentions.”
The Beginning After the End began as a webnovel on Royalroad in October 2015 before the story was moved to Tapas Entertainment in January 2017 when an editor reached out to TurtleMe. The story has garnered over 28 million views and has been adapted into a webcomic that has amassed over 48 million views. Yen Press has licensed the webcomic with the print version to be published by Rocketship Entertainment who has launched a Kickstarter campaign.
The Beginning After the End can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
