Sweet Home Creators Launch New Work Called Suspicion of Plagiarism

The creator of the thriller webcomic series Sweet Home has a new work out and it seems to be just as exciting.

Carnby Kim has teamed up with Youngchan Hwang once again to work on their third collaborative series. Called Suspicion of Plagiarism, Kim revealed the cover image which depicts a young man staring resolutely out. One side of his face is covered in blood while the other appears to be a sculpture. The manhwa was released on Naver WEBTOON on January 6 but there is currently no English translation.

Suspicion of Plagiarism follows a serial killer who has made a name for himself by killing and posing his corpses like art and even selling them like art pieces. While this would be chilling enough, this just infuriates one artist who’s pissed that this serial killer had the audacity to plagiarize his work.

Prior to Suspicion of Plagiarism and Sweet Home, Kim has also worked with Hwang on Bastard which was published between 2014 to 2016. Sweet Home was published from October 2017 to July 2020 and also has a prequel called Shotgun Boy with Kim writing with Hongpil illustrating and Hwang now providing editorial supervision.

The popularity of the Sweet Home webcomic has led to a three-season live-action adaptation that was first released on December 18, 2020 with the final season released on July 19, 2024. The series was released on Netflix and was the first Korean series to enter the streaming platform’s Top 10 in the U.S.

Establishing himself as a writer of thrilling storytelling that will have readers on the edges of their seats, Kim has also written PIGPEN with SICK illustrating and Flawed Almighty with RH Song illustrating. Both series are also available on WEBTOON.

Sweet Home and Bastard are available on WEBTOON.
