Skip and Loafer to Stream All Episodes for Charity
Skip and Loafer will not only offer comfort through its episodes but will also help support those affected by the earthquake in the Ishikawa Prefecture.

In an effort to provide support to those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, Skip and Loafer will make all 12 episodes available to watch for free on its YouTube channel. All proceeds from the ads and monetization will be donated to help the victims from the Jan. 1, 2024 earthquake in the Ishikawa Prefecture. The episodes will only be available to those living in Japan from Feb. 3 to Feb. 4 where it will premiere at 6 PM JST on Feb. 3 before being made available until 11:59 PM JST on Feb. 4. Skip and Loafer‘s protagonist Mitsumi Iwakura was born in the Ishikawa Prefecture.
On Jan. 1, 2024, Japan was rocked by an earthquake in the Noto Peninsula of the Ishikawa Prefecture. The earthquake claimed 240 lives and injured approximately 1,300 people. The severity of the earthquake led to the country’s first major tsunami warning since the devastating Tōhoku earthquake in 2011.
Created by Misaki Takamatsu, Skip and Loafer is a slice-of-life manga following Mitsuki Iwakura who moves to a high school in Tokyo with big plans. However, things go awry on her first day of school when she gets lost and bumps into popular highschooler Sōsuke Shima. The manga has recorded over 1 million copies in circulation as of January 2023 and won Best General Manga at the 47th Kodansha Manga Awards.
Skip and Loafer received an anime adaptation with P.A. Works animating and producing. Kotomi Deai wrote and directed the series with Manami Umeshita as the character designer and chief animation director. Takatsugu Wakabayashi composed the music. The series aired in April 2023 and concluded in June 2023 with 12 episodes.
Crunchyroll streams the anime. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga in English.
