It took a while but Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s first child The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System will finally get its hardcover deluxe edition. The announcement was made back in May and the publisher has excited fans with new covers for its deluxe hardcover edition.
Volume 1 was revealed back in August and features a never-before-seen modern Shen Yuan and his transmigrated version Shen Qingqiu. _cha201 illustrated the new dust jacket and the painted edges. The painted edges feature Sheng Qingqiu and Luo Binghe staring at each other, standing inches apart. The box art and secret endpapers was illustrated by Bakuten. The hardcover features a fan, Shen Qingqiu and a young Luo Binghe with a quote that says: “Shen Qingqiu seemed to be paying exra attention to him today. He couldn’t help but smile.“
The synopsis of Volume 1 is as follows:

The red hardcover illustration features a sword, a slumbering Shen Qingiu and a Luo Binghe who seems to be searching for someone. The quote reads: “For all that has passed, I repay you today.“
The synopsis of Volume 2 is as follows:
Three years have passed since Shen Qingqiu betrayed Luo Binghe, and now there are only two years left before his “deceased” disciple rises from the dead to claim his bloody glory as the protagonist. At least, that’s how the story is supposed to go.
In the midst of investigating a mysterious plague, Shen Qingqiu discovers that his actions have irreparably altered the plot–Luo Binghe has returned all too soon and Shen Qingqiu’s brilliant escape plan isn’t even ready yet! Worse, Shen Qingqiu can no longer predict his young disciple’s actions.
The only thing that hasn’t changed is Luo Binghe’s intense fixation on Shen Qingqiu himself, but even this obsession may be more than what it seems. Not that Shen Qingqiu has the time to puzzle through all the inconsistencies. There are various parties at play in the changing plot, and if he doesn’t act fast, he may face a fate far worse than death!
