After two years, fans must now bid farewell to Cezhou.

The final volume of the historical tale of war and political intrigue will arrive in August. Seven Seas revealed the eighth volume cover of Ballad of Sword and Wine: Qiang Jin Jiu with Shen Zechuan and Xiao Chiye looking at peace as they hold each other close. Notably, this is the first cover where we see both of the men facing toward each other. St. illustrated the cover and interior art. XiA, Jia, and amixy handled the translation for the entire series.

Although this will be the last we’ll see of Cezhou, Seven Seas is making the goodbye a little sweeter with a special edition version. The special edition will include four postcards, a double-sided bookmark, a sticker sheet, and a papercraft standee. The regular version costs $19.99 USD while the special edition costs $29.99 USD.

Written by Tang Jiu Qing, Ballad of Sword and Wine: Qiang Jin Jiu is one of the more popular danmei out there and follows the turbulent relationship between Shen Zechuan, the son of a traitor who gets captured by the capital, and Xiao Chiye, the youngest son of the Prince of Libei, who despises Shen Zechuan and wants to see him dead. Entwining politics in a complex historical storyline along with an enemies-to-lovers romance, Ballad of Sword and Wine is a fan favorite for a reason.

Seven Seas describes the finale as follows:

Fresh from victory at Duanzhou, Xiao Chiye leads the Libei Armored Cavalry deep into the eastern desert, hoping to deliver a killing blow to Amur and his Biansha Horsemen. Xiao Chiye will gamble everything on this final strike—but even as he forges ahead, Amur’s Scorpions lurk in the heart of the empire, poised to strike at everything Xiao Chiye has left behind, including his beloved.

Shen Zechuan, far from defenseless, prepares his Zhongbo troops to confront the capital of Qudu and its girl emperor, Li Jianting. But the coming battle will test more than military might. Shen Zechuan understands better than anyone that the real war will be won or lost in the hearts of the people. Can the nation ever kneel to the son of Shen Wei, the empire’s most reviled traitor?

Volume 8 of Ballad of Sword and Wine: Qiang Jin Jiu comes out on August 11. A manhua adaptation was released initially on Bilibili but with the English platform shut down, fans will have to purchase it on the Chinese platform.
