No, this is not an error, this is very real: Semantic Error is coming back.
An X, formerly known as Twitter, user shared the exciting news on the social media platform. The manhwa adaptation of J. Soori’s Semantic Error novel ended on October 16, 2023 on Ridibooks. Usually, the artist will leave some kind of creator’s note to indicate any possible side stories, but for some reason, there wasn’t one for Semantic Error even though there were side stories in the original novel.
But in a surprise notice on the Ridibooks schedule, it appears as though the manhwa will indeed be adapting the side stories with Angy set to illustrate. The first chapter will launch on February 3 in Korea. An international release has not yet been announced.

The main story in Angy’s original novel was completed in four volumes with side stories spanning two. It’s unclear if the manhwa will be adapting all side stories from the novel.
Choo Sangwoo, a computer science major who is dead set on a specific routine, finds his whole life upended when he decides to take off all the names of the slackers off his group project. One of the slackers, Jang Jaeyoung, a visual arts major who was just one class away from graduating, isn’t going to let this go. Using the fact that Sangwoo needs Jaeyoung’s help to realize his video game dreams, he takes every opportunity to annoy his junior including wearing his least favorite color. Sangwoo can only wonder if he can ever get rid of this error in his life?
The popularity of Semantic Error has sparked several adaptations including an audio drama, an animation, and a highly successful drama adaptation has been credited as spreading more awareness of Korean BL.
The novel and manhwa adaptation of Semantic Error are both published by Ize Press. The digital version of the manhwa is available on Manta with Publang holding the digital license for the novel.
