Rosmei Licenses Danmei Novel Liu Yao by Priest
Priest’s danmei novel Liu Yao, a heartwarming story about found families, will make its official English debut in 2024.
Rosmei has announced the official licensing of the danmei novel Liu Yao.
The Singapore publisher revealed, through a announcement video, they have licensed Liu Yao, a xianxia danmei novel written by Priest (Faraway Wanderers and Sha Po Lang). The video uses various quotes from the novel and a sneak peek of the possible cover as well as several other artwork flashing in quick succession. SassyStrawberry will translate while 山魂 Shan Hun will illustrate the cover. The first volume will release in Singapore in 2024.
Those who love stories revolving around found families should read Liu Yao. Liu Yao features the story of a “meanie,” a “narcissist,” a “troublemaker,” an “idiot,” and a “wimpy kid” who all help to revitalize a declining sect. The story follows 10-year-old Cheng Qian who was sold by his family to a rather suspicious-looking cultivator named Yan Zhengming to become his disciple of the Fu Yao sect. There, he meets three other disciples who all have very different personalities. As the five cultivators work to revive their sect, they come to terms with their own personal struggles. The web novel contains 109 chapters and three chapters.
Liu Yao has been adapted into an audio drama with a donghua and live-action adaptation announced.
The first volume of the official English translation of Liu Yao releases in Singapore in 2024.
