REVIEW: OSHI NO KO’s Coloring Activity Book Is a Gorgeous, Affordable Treat for Fans

OSHI NO KO coloring book

This review is for OSHI NO KO COLORING X IDOL COLOR ACTIVITY BOOK. Yen Press provided a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.

When Yen Press sent me a copy of the OSHI NO KO Coloring Activity Book, I was thrilled for the chance to review it. Mengo Yokoyari’s artwork is consistently stunning, and with so many coloring books for older audiences now being generated by AI, it’s refreshing to see a high-quality, artist-driven option like this on the market.

The book opens with a personal note from Yokoyari, encouraging readers to follow their instincts while coloring. It also includes reference cards you can cut out and keep nearby as you work. The paper feels thick and premium—ideal for alcohol-based markers like Copic or Ohuhu (Copic, as you can probably tell from my photos, is my go-to).

What truly surprised me was the price. The book retails for just $12.00, which feels incredibly reasonable given the quality. I would have gladly paid closer to $20 for this, and I imagine many OSHI NO KO fans would agree—though we’re certainly grateful for the accessible price point.

If you enjoy coloring or love OSHI NO KO, this book is an easy recommendation. It also makes a fantastic gift. The 32-page OSHI NO KO Coloring Activity Book released on December 9 and is available now through Yen Press and wherever books are sold.
