HIDIVE announced this morning that Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling will join its Winter 2026 lineup as the newest exclusive simulcast on the AMC Networks–owned streaming platform. The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Nekoko’s hit isekai fantasy light novel series will premiere in January and stream in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Before the official debut, fans attending Anime Frontier 2025 will have the chance to experience the North American premiere screening of the series.
“We’re excited to add the new isekai fantasy series Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling to HIDIVE’s Winter 2026 lineup,” said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE. “We can’t wait for fans to watch the anime adaptation and experience this long-running light novel series in a whole new way. Whether you’re new to isekai or a longtime fantasy fan, you won’t want to miss it!”
The story follows a protagonist who quite literally needs to come out of his shell—reborn in another world inside a dragon egg. Unlike most isekai heroes, this hatchling doesn’t start with powerful magic or incredible strength. To survive the dangerous forest he’s found himself in, he’ll need to grow from a weak baby dragon into a mighty beast, one challenge at a time.
Originally serialized as a web novel by Nekoko in August 2015, Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling became a full-fledged light novel series later that year, featuring illustrations by Naji Yanagida. The series currently spans 16 volumes, with the first twelve published by Earth Star Entertainment and later volumes released under Square Enix. The English-language edition of the light novel is available through Seven Seas Entertainment.
The upcoming anime is directed by Yuta Takamura, with Nobuyoshi Arai serving as assistant director, Tatsuhiko Urahata handling series composition, and Studio FelixFilm producing the adaptation.
Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling hatches onto HIDIVE this January 2026, bringing an egg-citing twist to the beloved isekai genre.
