Ever wondered what it would look like to see the drama scenes in a manhwa art style? Positively Yours‘s artist has you covered.
Kang Ki, the artist behind the manhwa adaptation of Lee Jung’s Positively Yours, isn’t the first artist to redraw scenes from a live-action drama adaptation, but it’s always a welcome surprise to see it happen. Shortly after the airing of the fourth episode, the artist redrew scenes from the premiere episode when Kang Doojoon and Jang Heewon meet and have their first kiss.
The live-action television series premiered on January 17 with Kim Jinseong directing and So Haewon writing. The series stars Choi Jinhyuk as second-generation chaebol Kang Doojoon and Oh Yeon-seo as Jang Heewon who has dedicated herself to her job and completely crossed off marriage. The two’s lives change after a one-night stand leads to a positive pregnancy test that result in Doojoon proposing to Heewon even though, prior to that night, they didn’t know each other at all.
The live-action adaptation is markedly different from the manhwa. In the manhwa, Heewon is a teacher and Doojoon is the chairman of the school board who also happens to be one of her student’s uncles. In the live-action, the creative team decided to change the setting to a corporate company.
Lee has spoken about the drama adaptation, saying it had “done a good job capturing the unique charm of the original work […] I’m looking forward to the banter and chemistry between Choi Jinhyuk and Oh Yeon-seo.”
The webnovel has attracted close to five thousand views on Wattpad since its premiere on the English platform on June 6, 2025. Debuting on June 12, 2020, the manhwa has garnered over 17 million views and 1.1 million likes on the English platform. The series concluded on April 8, 2022 with 89 chapters.
Positively Yours is currently airing every Saturday and Sunday on Channel A in Korea. Fans can check out the manhwa on Tapas and the webnovel on Wattpad.
