Oshi no Ko Is HIDIVE’s Biggest Launch EVER
The hit anime makes the distinction of being streamer HIDIVE’s biggest premiere to date.
The highly-anticipated spring anime Oshi no Ko has shattered all expectations and become HIDIVE’s biggest launch after debuting on April 12, becoming the number-one series in the company’s history.
HIDIVE initially streamed a preview of the anime, based on the manga of the same name, at the Anime Boston convention. Fans of the manga were delighted that the series received an adaptation, but additionally, that it received a streaming home so quickly. When the anime finally debuted on HIDIVE on April 12, it made its mark on the streaming app by becoming number one in streams with both new and existing subscribers.
Oshi no Ko, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, tells the story of the dark side of Japan’s entertainment industry. After falling pregnant, beloved idol Ai Hoshino seeks out gynecologist Gorou Amemiya to help her deliver her child safely and discreetly, so she can return to the stage scandal-free. However, on the day Ai is due to give birth, her stalker slays Gorou, and the good doctor finds himself reincarnated as one of her twins.
Oshi no Ko streams exclusively on HIDIVE in North America, which releases every Wednesday.
