The crowds were buzzing at New York Comic Con 2025 as WEBTOON took the stage with an announcement that had both horror fans and casual gamers cheering—Stranger Things: The Other Side and Plants vs. Zombies™ are officially coming to WEBTOON!
As part of its ongoing partnership with Dark Horse Comics, WEBTOON is reformatting these fan-favorite titles into its signature vertical-scroll format, giving readers a whole new way to experience these worlds right from their phones.
First up, Stranger Things: The Other Side brings fans back to Hawkins, Indiana, following Will Byers’ terrifying journey through the Upside Down during the events of Stranger Things Season 1. The comic, originally published by Dark Horse, is being adapted for mobile readers—perfect for late-night scrolling sessions under the covers (Demogorgon optional).
While a launch date hasn’t been revealed yet, WEBTOON shared exclusive preview images at NYCC, and they’ve already got fans speculating about what’s next for the Stranger Things universe on the platform.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. WEBTOON also announced that Plants vs. Zombies™ will be joining the lineup on November 1, 2025. The beloved series—known for its wacky battles between determined garden plants and delightfully ridiculous zombies—will make its WEBTOON debut with plenty of humor, action, and undead chaos.
Fans got a sneak peek during the panel, and the reimagined comic looks like a perfect fit for WEBTOON’s scroll-friendly style.
This partnership between WEBTOON and Dark Horse has been steadily expanding, with other big names like Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins, The Witcher, The Legend of Korra, and Cyberpunk 2077 already on board.
With more Dark Horse titles heading to WEBTOON, it’s clear the two companies are committed to bringing iconic franchises to digital comic readers in bold new ways.
