NYCC ’25: Kodansha Unveils New Manga Lineup for Fall 2026 at NYCC 2025

Kodansha announcements

Kodansha made waves at New York Comic Con 2025 with the reveal of their Fall 2026 print manga lineup, spotlighting an exciting range of titles that promise to thrill fans across genres. From The Ghost in the Shell creator Shirow Masamune’s high-end art collection to charming all-ages titles and sizzling romance debuts, the publisher’s latest announcements showcase the best of what manga has to offer.

A Cyberpunk Legend Returns

Leading the charge is Shirow Masamune: Artworks in the Shell, an expansive 288-page hardcover collecting over 40 years of Masamune’s art—from Dominion and Appleseed to The Ghost in the Shell and Intron Depot. First assembled for a major retrospective in Tokyo, the volume features rare pieces, early digital experiments, and even double gatefolds. A must-have for collectors and fans of cyberpunk history.

All-Ages Adventures and Adorable Cats

Kodansha also announced several charming all-ages additions. Cells at Work! Picture Books brings the beloved body-cell heroes into a new, kid-friendly “edutainment” picture book series, while Cells at Work! Cat explores what happens when those hardworking cells live inside a cat instead of a human.

Meanwhile, YuM Cat follows a foodie feline’s daily misadventures, and When a Dragon Calls offers a Ghibli-style fantasy about a young girl whisked away to a royal palace on dragon-back.

Action, Adventure, and Epic Emotion

Fantasy lovers can look forward to Erin the Beast Player, based on Nahoko Uehashi’s acclaimed novel series, getting a print omnibus release for the first time. The story of a young girl’s bond with legendary beasts will appeal to fans of Witch Hat Atelier and Mushishi.

Romance in Every Form

Romance takes many forms in Kodansha’s upcoming lineup. My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon offers a surprising mix of post-apocalyptic sci-fi and human/android love, while You Might As Well Be the One explores college romance with a twist of emotional realism.

On the BL front, A Love Too Captivating promises a tender slow-burn between a misunderstood delinquent and a straight-laced classmate, and Comeback After Fate dives into the high-stakes world of K-Pop idols—with an omegaverse twist that’s sure to heat things up.

Special Edition Collectibles

Finally, fans of Kodansha’s gritty fantasy Gachiakuta can look forward to a Dumpster Box Set—containing Volumes 1–10 in a graffiti-styled case, complete with an eco-friendly tote bag. The set arrives just as the Gachiakuta anime continues to air through the end of 2025.

All titles will be available beginning Fall 2026 in print at major retailers like Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Amazon, with digital editions on Bookwalker, Kindle, Apple Books, and more.
