My Hero Academia has announced the fourth film My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next will premiere on Aug. 2.
My Hero Academia has announced the title of the fourth movie and features a rather unexpected foe.
My Hero Academia‘s fourth movie will be titled You’re Next and will premiere in Japan on Aug. 2, 2024. The series also released its first trailer and highlights a key moment where All Might, after defeating All for One, points to the camera and intones “You’re next.” The trailer and key visual showcases the UA students fighting someone who appears to be All Might. My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next will be set in the same timeline as Season 7, which premieres in May.
Mangaka Kōhei Horikoshi will be the general supervisor and is credited for the original character design. Tensai Okamura will direct the film and has previously worked on My Neighbor Totoro for the key animation and directed The Seven Deadly Sins, Blue Exorcist and storyboarded Samurai Champloo. Yosuke Kuroda will write the script while Yoshihiko Umakoshi will design the characters. Yuki Hayashi will compose the music. Studio Bones will animate the movie.
A story set in a world full of heroes and villains, My Hero Academia follows one boy who was never born with any kind of superpowers and yet still dreamed of becoming the greatest superhero in the world. When Deku unexpectedly receives his idol All Might’s superpower, known as Quirks, called One for All, he also has unknowingly accepted a decades-long conflict against All Might’s nemesis All for One. The storytelling and character development, as well as Horikoshi’s detailed artwork, has made My Hero Academia one of the best-selling manga series with 85 million copies in circulation.
All six seasons of My Hero Academia are available to stream on Crunchyroll. The seventh season airs on May 4.
