Mo Xiang Tong Xiu Sends Fans Into Frenzy With Writing Update
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has, at long last, given an update after disappearing in 2019.
After what feels like 800 years, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has finally returned to social media.
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, best known as the behind the popular danmei Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, and Heaven Official’s Blessing, has shared an update on her JJWXC author page. Previously, the creator had announced a forthcoming fourth novel, with the title translated to The God of Death Doesn’t Have Day Offs, but has since announced it would be temporarily put on hiatus.
“Thank you to everyone for their excitement and anticipation for The God of Death Doesn’t Have Day Offs. But because the writing has changed, it doesn’t fit with what I originally planned and so I will shelve it for now. I will hide the manuscript. If the conditions change one day, I will resume writing this story.” Mo Xiang Tong Xiu also noted that she would return any coins fans have used to purchase it. She also reassured fans that she hadn’t given up on writing and asked them not to worry.
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu ceased interacting on social media accounts, including her Weibo and JJWXC (author’s account) in 2019, likely due to the cyberbullying she experienced during that time. Since then, the creator has largely stayed quiet although she has given a few interviews with her most recent one in 2023 for the Subaru magazine. Her return to social media gained a warm welcome and went viral on Weibo with fans celebrating.
Mo Xiang Tong Xiu wrote The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System in 2014 and a year later, began writing her second novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. Her most recent novel, Heaven Official’s Blessing, was released in 2017. All three series have inspired adaptations with The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System‘s donghua, audio drama, and manhua; a live-action television series, donghua, manhua, and audio drama for Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation; and a donghua, manhua, and audio drama for Heaven Official’s Blessing.
All three novels have been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment and are available to read officially in English.
