Mignon is attacking fans in the feels once more–now in manhwa format.
ABJ Company, the publishing company behind popular BL webtoon and manhwa series such as Work Love Balance, has released sneak peeks of the Mignon manhwa adaptation in two PVs. The main PV focuses on Mignon’s adoration and devotion to Youngwon as well as his eventual transformation. The “Eternal” PV focuses on Youngwon’s perspective, his struggles to push Mignon away, and him eventually giving into his feelings.
Created by Bboong Bbang Kkyu, Mignon debuted on Aug. 11, 2023, and garnered praise for storytelling and animation quality. In only 12 short five to ten minute episodes, the fantasy animation follows a young rising boxer named Mignon who participates in illegal fights. Injuries are a given, thanks to his occupation, but he doesn’t have much to fear when he has Oh Youngwon, the mysterious and handsome doctor, caring for him. Mignon inadvertently discovers Youngwon’s secret and his world turns upside down. Oh Minhyeok voiced Mignon while Kim Minju voiced Oh Youngwon.
ABJ Company also adapted the creator’s first BL aeni, Hyperventilation, into a manhwa with some added new content. TOKYOPOP published the print version in English. Bboong Bbang Kkyu’s second aeni, Unbelievable Space Love, has yet to be turned into a manhwa.
Information about an English translation or international release have not been released as of this article’s publishing. The Mignon manhwa will debut on January 31 at 10 p.m. KST.
