Manga Planet and futekiya have announced that they will shut down their digital platform in March 2026.

In a statement released on October 1 through the company’s social media and official website, Manga Planet confirmed that it will no longer operate as an independent digital service. Instead, the team will shift its focus to publishing print licenses under the Manga Planet label and futekiya imprint.

The announcement read, in part:

“Thank you very much for supporting Manga Planet since our launch in 2019. Through our digital subscription service and platform, our team has worked to increase legal access to manga in English and provide support for artists and publishers. Over the years, access to manga has evolved, and we are happy to see an increasing number of legal ways for readers to enjoy and support manga. However, due to various circumstances such as recent restrictions from payment processors and the changing online landscape, our team has found it difficult to continue.

With saddened hearts, we plan to close Manga Planet’s digital service at the end of March 2026. While we will no longer operate an independent digital platform, we will shift focus to print licenses and continue our print releases through our Manga Planet label and futekiya imprint.”

According to the closure schedule, sales of 3-, 6-, and 12-month passes will end on October 31, while sales of 1-week and 1-month passes will stop on February 28. The platform will officially close on March 31, 2026. Readers can continue to make purchases with points and access their libraries until their Passes expire.

Refunds will be issued only for Manga Planet Passes that extend beyond the closure date. Eligible holders will be contacted individually before the shutdown. Points and content will not be refunded. Readers will have until late April 2026 to request refunds.

The company closed by thanking fans for their continued support and promising to bring beloved titles to print through future license announcements.
