Omegaverse BL manhwa Low Tide in Twilight will get an animated adaptation.
The announcement comes from a new animation studio SOYOMO who also posted a short PV on their X, formerly known as Twitter, account. The PV begins with the webcomic of the first chapter when Kim Euihyun is about to walk into the ocean but is yanked back by Yeo Taeju. Taeju swipes his thumb across Euihyun’s lip, also wiping his tear away. Jang Seo-hwa will voice Taeju and Kang Seong-woo will voice Euihyun in the aeni. Kim Jungwoo’s “TOXIC” plays in the background.
Season 1 will adapt the first 12 episodes of the manhwa into five 10-minute episodes and is rated 19+. Although no release date has been announced, the studio is looking to release the first season approximately four months after the pre-sale deadline.
Low Tide in Twilight will be available exclusively on Soyomo’s website with payment details to be released at a later date. As of now, there seems to be no plans to release it on any other streaming platforms, but fans from overseas will be able to watch the series with subtitles available in Korean, Chinese, English, Japanese, and Thai.
Written and illustrated by euja, Low Tide in Twilight has amassed over 34 million views on the Bomtoon platform. The series is not for the faint of heart as it follows Kim Euihyun, an omega, whose father’s enormous debt forces him to walk into the ocean… and keep walking. Holding his younger half-brother, Euihyun is only a few steps in when he’s suddenly pulled away from the water’s edge by the alpha Kim Taeju who offers him a job, a house, and money. As good as that sounds, Euihyun knows Taeju wants something out of it… but can Euihyun give it to him?
Low Tide in Twilight is available to read on Lezhin. Published by Seven Seas Entertainemnt, Vol. 1 of the print release came out on Jan. 20.
