Season 2 of Link Click has announced its premiere date.

The official donghua account of Link Click dropped an exciting second trailer for the highly-anticipated second season which premieres on Bilibili on July 14. While the trailer features most of the same scenes that was seen in the anniversary trailer, the second PV notably includes more scenes about Lu Guang. In the trailer, fans are taken to the last moment of the first season’s finale, with Lu Guang getting stabbed by a possessed Qiao Ling as “punishment” for breaking the rules of “their game.” The music begins quietly before slowly crescendo-ing as the trailer features numerous new characters to be introduced. Near the end of the trailer, Cheng Xiaoshi appears to be sitting in a jail cell. When he asks the guard about Lu Guang’s condition, the guard simply states: “The rescue failed. He died.”

In addition to the trailer, Link Click also released a new key visual for Season 2 with a caption of “置身镜花水月之外的,亦是局中人.” This roughly describes how people who think they are “outsiders” or are not involved are actually involved. The key visual features a hooded person standing in front of an enormous portrait of Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi. However, the ripples denote that it’s not a painting but a pool of water. The detective introduced in the first season looks to the side while another person wearing a wide-brimmed hat and trench coat strolls past, gazing at the portrait. Arms crossed behind her back, Qiao Ling gazes curiously at the hooded person while the bespectacled man, who appeared in the first Season 2 trailer, checks the time on his watch.

Produced by bilibili and Be Dream Production with animation by Studio Lan, Link Click first premiered in October 2020 and became a success domestically and internationally. The first season follows friends and partners Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi who run a Time Photo Studio. The two work together to travel into the photos of their clients to help them with their past regrets. While the first season appeared to follow a slice-of-life format, it eventually crossed into a mystery-thriller genre when the two realize there appears to be a more sinister power at play.

Season 1 is available to stream on Crunchyroll. Season 2 premieres on July 14, although attendees to Anime Expo will get an early sneak peek on July 2.
