Link Click Season 2 Drops Chilling Opening and Closing Themes

Link Click fans “dove back into time” in Season 1, and now Season 2 will see them spinning in a “vortex.”

Ahead of its July 14 premiere, Link Click has released the opening and ending themes for the second season of the hit donghua. Performed by the same artist from Season 1, 白鲨JAWS returns with a new banger called “Vortex.” 白鲨JAWS will also perform the ending theme song “THE TIDES.”

The opening begins hauntingly with the lilting, deceivingly gentle accompaniment. The skies quickly change to dusk and focuses on a crane game with a pink teddy bear and gun swirling past before Cheng Xiaoshi comes into view. Midway through, Cheng Xiaoshi comes flying up to a rooftop where a figure stands, transforming into various characters: Qian Jin, Emma and Lu Guang. As soon as Cheng Xiaoshi high fives Lu Guang, he’s sent crashing down and the lyrics suddenly become muffled as the melody, at that point, becomes reversed. Michael, the lead singer of The JAWS revealed Director Li Haoling had requested him to produce it in such a way.

A doorbell sounds in “THE TIDES,” melding seamlessly into the opening melody. The ending takes a decidedly different approach in animation. The ending song uses both rapping and singing. Qiao Ling acts as Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang’s guide as they navigate an enormous mansion, stopping in front of a mysterious contraption.

Link Click Season 2 releases on July 13 in North America where it will stream on Crunchyroll.
