Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters is coming back to the big screen.
From October 31 to November 2, Netflix will re-release the movie in a special Halloween event across AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters, encouraging fans to dress up and belt out their favorite songs like “Golden,” “Your Idol,” and “Soda Pop.” The screenings mark a major moment for Netflix, which rarely brings its titles back to theaters, especially after a streaming debut.
The animated fantasy follows Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—global K-Pop idols by day and demon hunters by night—as they take on a rival boy band with a dark secret. The film became a breakout hit earlier this year, grossing an impressive $18 million during a limited sing-along run and quickly climbing the charts as Netflix’s most popular movie ever.
This re-release also signals a surprising new collaboration between Netflix and AMC Theatres. The world’s largest cinema chain initially opted out of showing KPop Demon Hunters during its first run, but will now screen it at over 400 locations across the U.S. and Europe. Both companies hinted that this could open the door for future partnerships between streaming and theatrical releases.
With its vibrant soundtrack, dynamic animation, and empowering message about music, friendship, and self-expression, KPop Demon Hunters has continued to capture hearts worldwide. And now, fans have another reason to return to theaters—lightsticks and costumes in hand—to celebrate the phenomenon all over again.
