EJAE, you are finally a Grammy winner!

The Grammys took place on February 1 and KPop Demon Hunters came into the ceremony with five nominations, three being for its hit song “Golden” in a very packed field. The song won “Best Song Written for Visual Media” with EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick accepting the award. “Golden” won against Tron: Ares‘s “As Alive as You Need Me to Be,” Sinners‘ “I Lied to You,” “Pale, Pale Moon,” and “Sinners,” and Elton John: Never Too Late‘s “Never Too Late.”

“Golden” was also nominated for “Song of the Year,” with “Wildflower” winning the title and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance,” with “Defying Gravity” winning the award. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack was also nominated for “Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media,” with Sinners taking the win.

EJAE, one of the songwriters and a third of the Huntr/x trio, was a former SM Entertainment trainee where she was trying to debut as a K-Pop idol. Unfortunately, her contract with the company ended and she was dropped due to her not having the right “sound” that fit SM Entertainment. She turned to songwriting and penned numerous K-Pop hits including Red Velvet’s “Psycho,” Aespa’s “Drama,” and Nmixx’s “O.O.” She debuted with her solo single “In Another World” on October 24, 2025, with her second single “Time After Time” releasing on February 6.

“Golden” has won a number of accolades including a Golden Globe for “Best Song – Motion Picture,” “Best OST” at the Melon Music Awards, and “Outstanding Original Song for a Comedy or Musical Visual Media Production” at the Society of Composers & Lyricists Awards. KPop Demon Hunters also won the Critics Choice Awards for “Best Animated Feature.”

The breakout summer movie was also nominated for an Oscar for “Best Animated Feature Film” with “Golden” nabbing another nomination for “Best Original Song.”

“Golden” has been breaking records since making its debut on June 20. It debuted at number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 63 on Canadian Hot 100 before hitting the top of the charts later on where it stayed for five consecutive weeks. The single was also number 1 on the US Spotify daily chart.
