Chinese singers Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang held a fairytale-like wedding ceremony on October 16 in Sanya, China, sharing parts of the celebration with fans via livestream. The broadcast reportedly drew over 16 million viewers, offering a glimpse into the couple’s luxurious and romantic event.
The ceremony, which lasted from 10 a.m. to nearly midnight, featured both outdoor and ballroom elements. The outdoor area was decorated with pastel-colored flower petals and giant dog figures, while the ballroom embraced a Milky Way theme, blending luxury and romance.
Zitao, 32, wore an all-white suit with gold embellishments for the start of the day and later changed into a black suit with sparkling details for the vow exchange. Yiyang, 28, dazzled in a flower-patterned strapless dress before switching to a slim-fitting sparkling gown with a floral shawl. Their vows reflected a decade-long journey together, with Yiyang recalling their first meeting 15 years ago and Zitao expressing the deep impression she had left on him.
Adding to the charm of the ceremony, the couple’s dogs served as ring-bearers, strutting across the stage to deliver the rings.
The guest list included notable figures from music and acting, such as Ningning from K-Pop girl group Aespa, actor Liu Yuning, actress and singer Liu Xiening, and singer Yan Haoxiang. Fans were especially excited to see Ningning, who had trained with Yiyang under SM Rookies.
Zitao and Yiyang had registered their marriage last year, and this ceremony marked the public celebration of their union. The couple’s shared history in K-Pop adds a layer of nostalgia for fans: Zitao debuted in EXO before launching his solo career, while Yiyang trained under SM Entertainment and later debuted as a soloist under Zitao’s L.Tao Entertainment.
The couple also playfully engaged with fans during the livestream, with Zitao joking about the flood of congratulatory messages and quipping, “It feels like you’re [artificial intelligence], are you guys AI?”
