The original Horimiya anime adaptation aired in January 2021 with 13 episodes. Based on Hero’s four-panel web manga series Hori-san to Miyamura-kun, Daisuke Haigwara later adapted the manga under the original mangaka’s supervision to create Horimiya which serialized in Monthly G Fantasy from October 2011 to March 2021. The series follows Kyoko Hori, a popular high school girl who has another side at home she doesn’t show to her friends. At home, she becomes the caretaker of the family, looking after her younger brother, cooking and doing housework. One day, her secret gets discovered by Izumi Miyamura, a boy in her class who also has a different side to him. At school, his hair hangs over his bespectacled eyes and he exudes a gloomy aura. Outside, he ties his hair up in a punk style, displaying his various piercings and tattoos. The two promise to keep the other’s secrets and Hori and Miyamura gradually get closer.

Horimiya -piece- airs in July 2023.
